For Ibeth creating memorable events is about more than bringing people together. It's about making people feel welcomed, connected, and taken care of.

That philosophy is rooted in her childhood home on Interstate Avenue in North Portland, the inspiration behind her company's name. For Ibeth's immigrant family, owning a home was an important milestone, and their house became a gathering place for birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments of celebration and support.

"There was a sense of safety and belonging at that house, for everyone who walked through the doors. Those are the feelings that I strive to recreate when I produce an event. I want everyone to feel like they’re at the Interstate House."

Ibeth launched her first concert production company in 2010, producing shows at Portland venues before expanding to hip-hop events across the country. After gaining experience in nonprofit events and creative production, she took a leap of faith in 2022 and founded Interstate House Productions.

"In my opinion, events, storytelling, and community-centered projects all go together. When I have the opportunity to do all three within one project, that’s literally a dream-come-true!"

In an increasingly digital world, Ibeth values the connections and shared experiences that in-person events create. Her approach considers both the guests and the people who bring each event to life, emphasizing fair compensation, respect, and attention to detail. Above all, she wants everyone to feel welcome, safe, and cared for.

Portland's creative community has also shaped her work. Inspired by the artists, designers, photographers, and producers around her, Ibeth sees a creative ecosystem built on collaboration and a desire to see others succeed.

"Creativity is what we foster here, it’s what we have perfected and what we export."

Ibeth believes Portland is a place where creatives can build successful careers, and she's passionate about helping the next generation find their own opportunities.

"Do it, do it now! Share your ideas and your dreams with people, you never know who might be listening and willing to help you on your journey."

She's also eager to be a resource for aspiring creatives.

"In fact, use me as a resource. If you are looking for mentorship, networking or hands-on experience, please reach out to me. If you want to tag along for a production, please reach out to me."

From her family's home on Interstate Avenue to the experiences she produces today, that spirit of connection and belonging remains at the heart of her work.
