What is an Event Tactical Team Meeting?
The Event Tactical Team Meeting is dedicated to improving the experience of producing and attending events in Portland by addressing issues that affect cultural programming and visitor enjoyment.
Led by the Portland Events and Film Office, the meeting brings together event producers, venue operators, and bureau partners to identify and resolve challenges that impact event planning, permitting, operations, and audience experience.
The work focuses on streamlined permit navigation, safety and cleanliness, business engagement, continuous improvement, and a strong customer-service mindset.
Office staff share information about upcoming events and permitting considerations, while participants surface emerging issues, flag concerns, and identify opportunities to better support both producers and attendees.
Through this ongoing collaboration, the network helps create safer, cleaner, and more welcoming environments for events—enhancing event operations while ensuring positive, accessible, and memorable experiences for audiences in public spaces throughout Portland

where your event will take place
how many people you expect
safety/cleanliness concerns you have
permits you have pulled or will pull
When is the best time to attend the Event Tactical Team Meeting?
Depending on the size and complexity of the event we recommend attending two -three months prior to your event and then again 2-3 weeks before your event.
